Overwhelming interest in a masterplan to improve Leatherhead has led to an extra exhibition being booked to display proposals to residents.

From June: What do you think needs to be done to transform Leatherhead?

The team behind Transform Leatherhead - a long term strategy of completely redeveloping the Swan Centre, creating a new riverside park, simplifying the town’s road system and developing the Bull Hill site - will be hosting a further exhibition at the Old Barn, Bookham on Saturday, January 9.

More than 3,000 residents from the historic market town and its surrounding villages engaged in the initial Transform Leatherhead consultation over the summer.

From November: Mole Valley District Council seek public suggestions on how to Transform Leatherhead

About 1,000 people visited the Transform Leatherhead exhibition at the Leatherhead Theatre in Church Street in December.

Councillor Howard Jones, executive member for town centres said: "The level of interest from residents both visiting the exhibition and commenting on the ideas online has been fantastic.

"Residents are clearly keen to share their views on these exciting ideas and we are delighted to be taking the exhibition to Bookham on January 9."

The exhibition will be held between 10am to 1pm at the Old Barn, 55 Church Road, Bookham. The full exhibition can also be viewed at www.transformleatherhead.com along with details of the exhibition.
