A date is still to be set for an inquest into the case of a mental health patient who fell to his death from a hospital chimney last year.
On Wednesday last week Woking Coroner’s Court held a pre-inquest hearing for 20-year-old Adam Withers who died following the fall at Epsom Hospital in May 2014.
The incident shocked the community and led to several investigations by both Epsom and St Helier University Hospital NHS Trust and Surrey and Borders Partnership Foundation Trust, which runs the mental health wards.
Following the hearing last week a spokeswoman for Surrey and Borders confirmed the inquest is still scheduled to take place later this year, but declined to comment further as the case is still ongoing.
