I received a letter this morning from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It had eight pages of information about Disability Living Allowance.
The letter was only printed on one side of each sheet. If the DWP had used both sides it would have halved the amount of paper used. Assuming that a copy of this letter has been sent to just 10,000 people the DWP has wasted 40,000 sheets or 80 reams or 16 boxes of paper. Given the current economic constraints on all government departments, how is this waste justified?
