Just before Christmas I contacted the Labour Party through their website regarding the continuing discrimination against carers in the UK with an enquiry of the policies they have to stop this appalling abuse of this hidden section of the community.
Since then I have heard absolutely nothing in response.
I contacted the Labour councillor for Court Ward, Daniel Stevens who is the leader of the Labour group, and I must add he has been extremely helpful and an example of what the connection of councillors and constituents should be, who confirmed that the individual responsible for these issues is a Mrs Sheila Kendall. Mr Stevens also appeared surprised at Mrs Kendall's attitude though I suspect not overly so.
Mrs Kendall has chosen to see fit to disregard my enquiry and although I have contacted The Labour party by phone at their Newcastle phone number, there is absolutely no assistance from there except to suggest I contact the chief whip or the policy office. Neither of which are of any value as they do not respond either.
One wonders exactly what these elected individuals are doing to justify their positions in Government, and the outrageous arrogance of Mrs Kendall leaves me stunned.
It is also amazing that when enquiring about membership or contributing to the party there is always an individual available to discuss this.
I presume that Mrs Kendall's unjustified insulting behaviour will continue, and that due to this I would like to highlight the behaviour as a whole of the Labour Party, in view of the coming elections.
It would appear that my vote would be irrelevant to the party and I presume that as in previous elections I will see no MP's on my doorstep canvassing. Just the usual unhelpful leaflets extolling the virtues of a party and a candidate I do not know anything about who have completely lost connection with the electorate.
What a sad indictment of the state of politics in the UK today.
