Kingstonian go into this Saturday’s Bostik Premier Division clash with Margate hoping for a change of fortunes following a poor recent run.
K’s travelled to Suffolk last weekend to tackle Leiston but came away with a 2-0 defeat.
Patrick Brothers opened the scoring in the 19th minute and Byron Lawrence added to K’s misery with a second goal just before half-time.
Leiston had a third goal ruled out for offside just after the break but, despite giving a much-imporved showing in the second half, Leigh Dynan’s team couldn’t find a way back into the game.
The defeat — their fourth in their last six league matches — leaves K’s in 14th place in the division.
Margate come to Fetcham Grove this Saturday in eighth place having won 3-2 against Hendon last weekend.
The Kent coast club will provide a tough test for Dynan's team having last tasted a league defeat against Merstham on October 17, a run spanning eight matches.
Kane Haysman, who recently had a spell with K’s, is currently part of the Margate squad.
