Epsom volunteer and resident Debbie is running in this years’ London Marathon for local charity SeeAbility.

Debbie is running the 26.2 mile route after deciding to support a charity close to her home in Epsom, and is reaching the busiest period of her fundraising efforts.

“I wanted to be able to visit the charity and directly see the impact my efforts will be making,” says Debbie.

Debbie has already made close bonds with the charity’s services in Leatherhead and Ashtead, and took the opportunity to organise a coffee morning at CHAD’S Coffee House with some of the people that live there.

“I am beginning to get excited about the actual day Sunday 23rd April, although I am very nervous about how I will feel beyond the 20 mile mark having never run this distance before, my goal is to finish,” says Debbie, who has just completed her longest training run of 20 miles.

SeeAbility is a national charity whose Head Office is in Epsom. They support people with sight loss and multiple disabilities and have residential and supported living services close by in Ashtead and Leatherhead. SeeAbility is the operating name for the Royal School for the Blind.
