Children and staff at Banstead Community Junior School dressed up to celebrate World Book Day. The children had a special assembly with both teachers and children sharing their favourite books.
They then took part in lessons focussing on specific books and authors. One of the focus authors, Shirley Hughes, wrote replies to three year 3 children who had written to her asking questions about her books.
Miss Bendall, Literacy Leader said: "We have had a fantastic day of activities encouraging the children to read a wide variety of books and learn about new authors."
