Epsom Beaumont Care Home are lucky enough to have a visit from Mia, our Pets As Therapy dog who comes to visit our residents once a month.
Not only does Mia come to Epsom Beaumont but she also visits our Jubilee unit for Dementia and Alzheimer's; Mia also does room visits to make sure she has seen everyone. The residents love having her visit and feeling the benefits of reducing anxiety and producing huge smiles on their faces.
Of course Mia gets a well deserved treat at the end, as do the residents with cake and tea.
This is one of the ways Epsom Beaumont are trying to work with the local community within Epsom. As well as Mia visiting, we have volunteers from Epsom College and UCA Epsom.
Our aim is to build a strong relationship with the local community, if you want to be a part of this relationship then don't hesitate to get in contact or come in for a chat.
