The attached pictures show a little of the state of Preston Lane in Tadworth. I and others have reported this to Surry CC roads Dept. and have been informed "We have visited the site and on closer inspection the problem does not need immediate work"

Yet the potholes are various sizes and many exceed the Councils own guidelines, which state that holes of 150 mm in diameter and 40 mm in depth shall have a response category P2, which goes on to promise: "Correct/repair or make safe within 5 working days. If it is not possible to permanently correct/repair defect within 5 working days, a permanent repair should be carried out within 20 working days, where appropriate, i.e. unless maintenance/improvement works are planned within a timescale not exceeding 6 months."

Please see https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/34548/Highway-Safety-Inspection-Policy-Annex-A-Nov13.pdf#34548 These holes vary in size, from 620 mm x 65 mm, 1000 mm x 60 mm, etc etc.

There was a small stretch of this road repaired last year, late July/August. Would it not have made sense to repair the entire stretch at that time? I notified the council of the need for repairs last autumn and received the same response. Why wasn't the situation addressed then?

In the meantime Tadworth High St has been treated to a new road surface for no apparent reason, no visible signs of potholes or road degradation.
