A woman whose teenage ex-boyfriend allegedly threatened to kill her and then tried to force entry into her home brandishing a knife has spoken of her terrifying experience.

Police were called to her home in Leatherhead on the evening of Wednesday, January 25, after reports of a man, allegedly ‘high on drugs’ wielding a knife.

The 17-year-old was reported to be outside the property 'screaming and shouting threats of stabbing and killing'.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims her ex-boyfriend had already threatened to come to her house to ‘stab and kill’ her three times earlier that day.

Turning up at her house later the same day, he smashed her front window and again threatened to kill her while wielding a knife.

She said: "When I heard this it was shocking and really scared me. I never thought anyone would ever want to hurt me that badly.

"He was still outside shouting threats and kicking and punching the fence outside, as well as the bins on the path."

The teenager was wrestled to the ground by another male friend, who just happened to have stopped by the woman’s house, and was later arrested by police and charged with affray, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.

She added: "It’s left me feeling very stressed and worried at the fact that if he wasn't in the house I may have been stabbed and killed.

"I was with him for two years, the relationship ended and since then he has made my life hell with calls and texts of a threatening nature."

The 17-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced at South East Surrey Magistrates on February 29.

He was given a 12-month community rehabilitation order, a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend and ordered to pay costs of £25.
