Ex-Rosebery School student, Steph Marks, has recently set up her own home and mobile beauty service, 'Beauts', after being inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Epsom hair salon owner, Sam Ross (of 35 South Street).

Steph had her first work placement at Sam Ross and never forgot it. During her time at the salon, Steph developed confidence in her people skills and found passion in boosting the self-esteem of every client that entered the establishment.

After completing school, Steph took a fairly traditional route to university and managed to secure an impressive fashion buying role within a multinational retailing firm.

However, Steph knew that being a business owner was all she really wanted and in January 2014, having completed various qualifications in beauty therapy, she was brave enough to make it happen.

Beauts has gained a whole host of local fans since launching, not only through Steph’s enormous Rosebery alumni network but a 360 approach to getting herself out there.

“It’s not all about the web! Social media is great but you have to be open to all aspects of the marketing mix – I’m a big fan of networking events”, says Steph, as she looks forward to her new venture.
