Just read your article 'Noisy milk float spoils good night's sleep for Ewell man'.
We live near Horsham in Sussex. I have exactly the same problem. Since about half a year I get woken up once or twice a week by a noisy diesel milk delivery van from Dairy Crest at 4am and I am really upset about it.
Not sure whether he changed his car or his time as before that (we moved into this house about a year ago) it did not wake me up.
In the summer I had problems going back to sleep as the birds are starting to sing and its getting light around that time. A neighbour uses earplugs and keeps her window closed, because it disturbs her as well.
We have a shop in walking distance and I cannot see the point of spending fuel (the driver needs to pick up the milk first from the depot) and polluting the environment.
I also wonder whether people are aware that Dairy Crest is a big listed company, as they might think that they are supporting a poor person on his delivery run.
At least the delivery should take place at a human time!
Many thanks for bringing the subject up.
