The Government is overhyping the benefits of fracking (Fracking fears in Epsom and Ewell after drilling licences granted by Government, 15 August) – this unnecessary and unwanted technology is a significant threat to local communities and the environment.
Chris Grayling MP says fracking could cut gas bills significantly, but there's evidence from energy regulators Ofgem to suggest it won't lead to cheaper power.
Shale gas won’t help us meet our legally-binding climate change targets. It threatens our water resources and our already poor air quality, which is way over EU legal limits in London.
The answer to our energy needs is to cut out as much energy waste as possible and develop Britain's huge potential for renewable energy.
