A warm-hearted girl has gone through with her promise to cut off her golden locks to help sick children with cancer.

Jessica Smith, 7, went to Charlie Brown hairdressers, in Banstead, who cut her hair free of charge on Monday, November 26.

Jessica came up with the idea after seeing her cousin in America shave her hair off so it could be used to make wigs for children suffering hair loss.

Her mother Sinead said: "Jessica is very pleased and we are all extremely proud that she has raised just over £350 for the Little Princess Trust.

"She was over the moon and so happy to be doing something to help sick children with cancer. She really likes her new hair cut as well."

Jessica, from St Dunstan’s Hill, Sutton, attends St Annes Catholic Primary School in Banstead.
