Council election candidates are out and about in Epsom and Ewell today trying to secure vital votes as the borough goes to the polls.

RA, Lib Dem, Conservative and Labour prospective councillors are treading the streets to garner those final few key votes.

Conservative leader Sean Sullivan said: “It is vital that people come out and vote.

“it is important that all those who vote Conservative at the national elections do so at this election.”

Lib Dem Jonathan Lees emphasised that his party is unique in offering a different tailored vision for each of the wards.

He said: “If you want to have a voice locally in Epsom and Ewell, now is your chance.

“Our party is passionate about supporting the local people and we are unique in our vision for the borough.”

RA councillor Neil Dallen added: “Come out and vote according to what you hope and believe.

“The RA can be trusted despite what you may have read.”

Polling stations across the borough will be open all day until 10pm.

The count will take place at Epsom Downs racecourse from 8.30am tomorrow with the results of both the AV referendum and the local election expected as late as Saturday afternoon.
