A team of 10 midwives and maternity support workers from Epsom Hospital subjected themselves to a gruelling military assault course to raise funds for the hospital’s maternity unit.
The team braved the Nuts Challenge military assault course on Sunday September 2, including challenges such as swimming through rivers of mud, crawling through bunkers, climbing trees, scaling walls and running through tyres.
The team completed the 7km assault course in three hours and and 45 minutes.
Suzanne Kneller, ward Manager for Simon Stewart ward at Epsom Hospital, said: “we are broken, very sore and bruised, but teamwork and determination got us through it. I am so proud of us all.
“We were all at varying levels of fitness, but we feel passionately about delivering high quality care to our patients
“We wanted to do something that would help make our unit even better, and we're not afraid of getting our hands dirty to do it.”
The team has raised £2,745 of their £5,000 goal.
