Two puppies are being funded through guide dog school thanks to Guide Dogs for the Blind and The Ashley Centre.

The Ashley Centre pledged to help raise enough money to sponsor one puppy, but – due to generous shoppers – the collections, tombolas, activities and information stands held in the Centre each month raised an incredible £11,564.93!

Guide Dogs for the Blind’s Epsom branch was chosen as one of the Ashley Centre’s charities of the year 2017.

The Ashley Centre’s other chosen charity, The Sunnybank Trust, used their hugely popular gift wrapping service in the run up to Christmas to raise nearly £3,000.

Centre manager David Beddows said: “We are delighted to have been able to support these two worthwhile charities this year and we congratulate them on the amazing amounts they have raised.

We are also extremely grateful for the generous donations of presents this Christmas that we wrapped and delivered to the children’s ward at Epsom General Hospital. Our shoppers are incredibly kind hearted and supportive.”

The puppies will soon start their journey to become a life-changing companion for an adult or child with sight loss.
