There was a serious crash in Ashtead this morning on Park Lane near the A24.
A man, trapped in the car, had to be freed by emergency services.
A Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to Park Lane in Ashtead at 7.50am this morning (29 December) following a single vehicle collision.
"South East Coast Ambulance and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
"A man was trapped in a Suzuki, once he was freed he was taken to hospital via ambulance.
"Road closures at the junction with Bramley Way and Epsom Road were in place while emergency services were at the scene and the vehicle awaited recovery."
The AA said the road re-opened at about 1pm, but traffic is still queuing up the A24.
South East Coast Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
