Kew Bridge had been re-opened after a man was successfully talked down by police officers.
Metropolitan Police offcers were called at about 1.20pm to reports of a man threatening to harm himself on the bridge.
The bridge was closed while officers talked to the man, and it was re-opened once the man was taken to a south London hospital.
The 65 and 391 buses were diverted while the closure was in place.
