An new pet store is set to arrive in Epsom.

The shop will provide pet products for your furry friends, catering for local dogs, cats, small animals, chickens, birds and fish.

To celebrate the opening, the store is calling on local residents to nominate a caring and responsible young pet owner to help officially open the store on East Street on Thursday, December 8.

The winner will receive £100 worth of Pets at Home vouchers and will be invited, with their entire school class, to participate in an exclusive workshop at the store, where they will learn about the welfare needs of different animals.

Upon opening the store will offer grooming services and a veterinary surgery will be on offer from December 16.

An adoption centre, run by independent charity Support Adoption for Pets, will also be open in the new shop.

Area manager, Mike Gambrill, said: “There was a strong demand from Epsom’s pet owners for Pets at Home to come to town, and we’re very pleased to have been able to grant them their wish.

“Pets at Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Epsom.

“They’re all extremely passionate about pets and can’t wait to get started.”

Pets at Home is taking over the premises formerly occupied by a Ford garage on East Street and has invested £400,000 in the new shop.

To nominate a young pet owner, email petslocal@havas.com with details of why they are deserving of the title, plus their school and contact details with ‘Epsom’ in the subject before Friday, November 25.
