A 60-YEAR-old from Ashstead is cycling 200 miles to raise money for the charity which helped his wife in her final years.
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust supports people living with this incurable disease that causes scarring of the lungs.
Tony Suwalski set off on September 14 on the bike he received for his 60th birthday, riding to his wife Karen’s hometown in Maerdy in South West Wales to celebrate what would have been their 33rd wedding anniversary.
She died on December 22 last year aged 61.
Along the way, he will be stopping at the place of their marriage in Rhondda Valley.
Mr Suwalski said: “We feel such a huge and indescribable loss over Karen’s death. The cycle seems a fitting tribute to someone who fought so bravely. I hope that people reading this will dig deep and support the challenge so the charity can continue its good work.”
