Two double-stabbings in four days have left Stoneleigh residents “stunned”.

TUESDAY: Teenagers stabbed at Stoneleigh Halloween party after gang turns up uninvited

FRIDAY: "Stabbed in the head and face": Stoneleigh man and woman attacked by "gold-toothed" attackers

Two 18-year-old men were stabbed at a Halloween party in Walsingham Gardens at around 11.45pm on Saturday, October 31, after a gang turned up uninvited.

A 17-year-old boy from London was later arrested on suspicion of assault.

Then, at around 7pm on Thursday, November 5 in Seaforth Gardens, which runs parallel to Walsingham Gardens one road over, an 18-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were stabbed in the head and face.

The victims were taken to hospital for further treatment for injuries which are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

There is still blood on the door of a bungalow in Seaforth Gardens.

A neighbour said police cordoned off the house while they removed evidence.

Last night Stoneleigh residents said they were “scared” after the attacks.

A father of two from Seaforth Gardens said: “It’s quite a worry that what happened on Walsingham Gardens and what happened here, happened within four days of each other.

“It is especially quite a worry for a parent with two young children.

“I think they are unrelated and are isolated but it is still a worry.”

John Marshall, 64, a retired medical engineer from Seaforth Gardens said: “I did not hear anything.

“This is not the kind of area you’d expect it.

“Is there a link? You imagine it is the same kind of people.

“It is scary.”

A young woman from Walsingham Gardens agreed that such violent incidents were uncommon in Stoneleigh.

She said: “It is quite scary because obviously around here it is quite nice – it isn’t rough.

“You just don’t expect it.”

A man who lives close to the house where the pair were attacked in Seaforth Gardens said he was first aware that something had happened when he saw police at the house between the evening of Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6.

He said: “The police were there all day and night taking bags away.

“It was obviously violence.

“It isn’t the sort of thing that goes on around here.

“I have never heard of any violence happening around here before.”

A woman from Walsingham Gardens was “stunned” by the events of the last four days, and had never seen anything like it in her twenty years living in Stoneleigh.

She said: “I have lived in the area for twenty years and it is the first time that crime this severe has happened here.

“We don’t even get thieves around here.

“It’s actually quite a safe area. I’m stunned.”

A 17-year-old boy from London was arrested on suspicion of assault after the double stabbing in Walsingham Gardens and later released on bail to return to Salfords custody suite on Friday, December 11.
