Kingston’s longest running comedy club will draw the curtain on its final performance at the Grey Horse this week.

The Richmond Road pub has been hosting Crack Comedy for twelve years but landlord Richard Fletcher is retiring and the club has yet to secure a spot with the new owners.

The club has hosted some of the biggest names in comedy over the years, including Dara O’Briain, Rhod Gilbert and Dave Gorman.

From January Crack Comedy will be moving to the Library, the former Ama-gi nightclub at 48 High Street. Erich McElroy, who has been running the club for six years, said: “The Grey Horse has been a fantastic venue and it’ll be sad to leave but we are also very excited about moving to the Library.

“We might be back there one day, it all depends what the new owners want to do with the place. I’ll be watching it carefully.”

The final Crack Comedy night at the Grey Horse will be on December 28 where there will be performances by Loretta Maine, Eddy Brimson, Erich McElroy and Jarred Christmas.

Tickets start at £7:50 and more information can be found on the Crack Comedy website: crackcomedy.com
