Former Wych Elm landlords Manuel and Janet Turnes
In your issue of September 18, you reported on Janet and Manuel’s retirement from the Wych Elm pub after a long-serving stint.
Mention should have been made of Janet’s excellent cooking, but she was also famous for her colourful window boxes.
She has received many prizes for them, including a first prize last year at the Hampton Court flower show.
Her boxes draw many admirers. She and Manuel will be greatly missed by their many patrons.
