Firefighters rescued a woman from "under the wheels" of a car this morning.
An air ambulance was called out after the incident in Rutland Close, near Longmead Road, Epsom, at about 5.40am.
An Epsom fire station spokesman said: "This morning a woman was trapped under the wheels of a car."
A Surrey Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said two fire engines were called out to rescue a 67-year-old pedestrian from under a car.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said an air ambulance, two ambulances and a car attended the scene.
He said: "The woman suffered head injuries and was taken by road to St George's Hospital in Tooting."
Ewell resident Paul Warner said he heard a helicopter when he got up with his son at about 6.30am.
Mr Warner said: "It sounded really close and really loud. It sounded like it was landing or taking off.
"I just wondered what was going on. I thought there might be some sort of crime taking place."
Rutland Close is reportedly sealed off.
