A tree crashed down and blocked half of a road in Epsom leading to congestion this afternoon.
Police and rangers were called to the scene in South Street where the tree apparently fell from Mounthill Gardens.
An Epsom Council spokesman said the tree fell down near Epsom Playhouse at around midday but he believed the road has since been reopened.
At 1.30pm private hospital Clock House Healthcare’s Twitter account announced that a tree was half blocking South Street and traffic was backing up past Epsom Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to South Street in Epsom at around 12.45pm on Tuesday, 17 December after a tree which had come down was causing an obstruction at the location.
"No injuries were reported and contractors from Epsom and Ewell Borough Council safely removed the tree."
