I woke up to be greeted to a mystical red glow peeking through the curtains. In excitment I rushed to the window to see a winter wonderland below. Putting on my boots and jacket as I bolted downstairs I took my first step in the snow. Thoughts began to rush through my head as I began to plan my day. Sledging, snowballs, snow angels, hot chocolate and best of all no school. Well, I was hoping that there would be no school. As on cue my mother announced that "unfortunatley" school had been cancelled. The day was just getting better and better.
Whilst dunking down my hot choclate the sound of the radio caught my attention, "What is it with this snow? How on earth am I ever going to get to work today." I laughed in mock horror. It seemed absurd that the guy on the radio was actually complaining about not being able to get to work that morning. It must be an adult thing, I thought to myself. Swiftly I gulped down my drink and made for the door armed with sledge and spade. A great day was just about to begin.
