A group of Epsom volunteers will be holding several stalls and events during September and October - pressing juice for people who bring in their locally grown apples (or pears), and selling the surplus fresh juice to drink there and then, or else take home. So if you want beautiful, freshly made juice from your own or locally grown fruit, come and have a go !

By Community Correspondent: Hannah Davies Over the last few years it has become commonplace for people to stereotype others - this trend may be especially prevalent amongst teenagers and young adults. The words ‘emo’, ‘goth’ and ‘chav’ are now well integrated into our vocabulary and with the recent popularity of referring to public school pupils as ‘rahs’, it seems a relatively new stereotype is developing that aims to mock the apparently over confident and opulent nature of the public school sector.

We waste an alarming amount of food each year in the UK. Estimates put that at around 5.3 million tonnes, and at a value of perhaps £12 billion. With a bit of thought, care and planning, we could help cut this. Cutting this obscene food waste would have huge environmental benefits, especially use of water and carbon dioxide emissions.
