Storage King Supporting Rays of Sunshine as our chosen Charity Storage King Epsom is pleased to announce that Rays of Sunshine has been confirmed as our official charity for 2015.

To celebrate the launch of this long term partnership all staff at Storage King dressed up in “something” yellow for the day on Friday 30th January. There were minions, bananas and freakish hair styles, all of which brightened up the day at all thirteen Storage King branches participating in the fund raising.

Storage King has pledged to donate £1 for every new customer moving into Storage during 2015. So when customers Move in for the first month at £1 this will be given directly to Rays of Sunshine. In addition to this each store and the Head Office have pledged a fundraising target of £500 each to achieve in the year.

Storage King will be holding 2 events in the stores at Easter and at Halloween to help with donations as well as a number of individual staff initiatives which will take place from jumping out of a plane to swimming a lake!

Rays of Sunshine www.raysofsunsunshine.org.uk grants wishes for children across the UK (aged three – 18), living with a serious or life-limiting illness. Every day of the year the charity gives brave and deserving young people the chance to put their illness on hold and enjoy a moment of escape.

The donations received from each store will be used to sponsor the wishes of children in the area.

Over 4,000 individual wishes have been granted since the charity was set up in 2003. Wishes can be as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a princess or a fireman for the day, go to Disney World in Florida, visit Santa in Lapland, own an iPad, meet a favourite celebrity or a ‘real life’ mermaid, Rays of Sunshine works hard to make that wish come true. Rays of Sunshine also grants ward wishes, which offer a distraction to hundreds of children during their time in hospital or a hospice. Events and outings are held throughout the year for large groups of seriously ill children including trips to theme parks, hospital activity/pamper days, parties and The Rays of Sunshine Concert at The Royal Albert Hall.
