Mrs Whelan, Warren Mead Junior School’s Modern Foreign Languages leader, strongly believes that children should have as many opportunities to practise their French as possible. This year, children have led a French assembly, learned French songs and carols and even have done their daily ‘wake and shake’ exercises in French!

The year ended on a high as year 6 children recreated a French café for both parents and children to enjoy some traditional French delicacies. The children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to speak French with their parents. Mrs Sandra Cunningham, the head teacher said ‘This year was just the start. Mrs Whelan has so many ideas and is currently further developing our French curriculum! The French café was a big hit and I think this will become an annual event!’ Based on information supplied by Sandra Cunningham.
