Now I know why the NHS needs more money.
I telephoned my local hospital for an appointment for a hearing test (my last one was in 2009).
Now I know why the NHS needs more money.
I was told I would have to get a referral from my GP. I telephoned my GP and was told it would be seen to.
Two weeks later I had a letter from the appointments line in Milton Keynes (I live in Epsom) saying that their records show I had not yet made an appointment and would I telephone them and give my reference number and a password! I telephoned and said what password? They said it would be on my referral letter (letter not received by me)- so was told to contact my GP again.
I telephoned my surgery again for the password and was told to ring tomorrow when the secretary would be there. Next day I was given my password by the secretary (Clay Clown) - am in a circus!
I then telephoned Milton Keynes again and gave them the details they required and they gave me a telephone number to ring to make the appointment. Guess where? back to my local hospital.
I then telephoned the hospital to make the appointment and was told they would ring me back with an appointment date.
They phoned back and said they couldn't make an appointment by telephone and they would send me an appointment by letter.
It would be interesting to know how much this cost the NHS
I am now waiting.
