The Epsom Guardian report of Woodmansterne Primary School's memorial to Kai Arnold (Students raise £1,000 for air ambulance after pupil and mother killed in crash, March 26) is a reminder that the police and council have still not published reports into the July 2014 crash which killed Kai and his mother and seriously injured several others.
The approaching anniversary of this tragedy highlights the unexplained delay in identifying the cause of the crash and prevents appropriate preventative action.
Without this crucial professional information the effort put into a widely supported petition may be wasted and its call for speed cameras in Banstead Road may be both misdirected and outside the police
criteria for installing such devices. Further delay in publishing the reasons why this crash occurred so that another can be prevented are unfair to Kai's family and friends and suggest an unhappy lack of enthusiasm for road safety at this black spot. Surely the elected councillors representing Woodmansterne and Ewell can get the police and council to give this matter better priority.
