So the leader and deputy leader of Surrey County Council have declined their 60 per cent and 59 per cent pay rises and decided to restrict themselves to getting a mere 31 per cent and 38 per cent of our money. Meanwhile, the 81 councillors are only getting 5.3 per cent - more than most Surrey residents, but much less than the top dogs.
I agree with your previous correspondent - seeing Conservatives getting these massive rises while the rest of us get little or no increases on our wages and savings makes me despair.
This reflects on the Conservative Party at large and may well make them unelectable. And we certainly don't want our economy ruined again by yet another Labour administration.
