Hampton & Richmond Borough put National League Premier Aldershot Town to the sword on Saturday, but Beavers boss Alan Dowson has warned his team is far from the finished article.

Two Tom Jelley penalties and a Nicke Kabamba effort - after good work from Aaron Lemore - fired National League South Hampton to a 3-0 win over their more illustrious visitors at the Beveree.

Pleased: Hampton boss Alan Dowson liked what he saw against Aldershot Town

New signings Harold Odametey, Christian Jolley and Giuseppe Sole all impressed, but Dowson - who saw his side held 1-1 at Met Police on Tuesday - insisted there remained plenty of work to be done.

"Its only pre-season, but it was against a good side," he said.

"We still need one or two more tweaks to the team. Everyone's working hard and getting fit, and the team ethic has been excellent so far."

Back in the groove: Hampton's Jamal Lowe - sporting the club's new kit - has continued where he left off last term

Aldershot boss Gary Waddock added: "Credit to Hampton though, they're a good side with momentum from last season, with some good players in that team."

Hampton head to Salford City this weekend.
