Twickenham triathlete Stuart Hayes labelled his Olympic Team GB selection as a dream come true on Monday.
The 33-year-old will be on the startline for London 2012 triathlon in Hyde Park on August 7, alongside the Brownlee brothers.
And Hayes could not hide his delight.
“It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity be part of Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games,” he said.
“I was born and I grew up in London, so to be part of a very strong British triathlon team at a home Games is a dream come true.”
There was disappointment for Hampton-based Vanessa Raw as she failed to make the cut for the women’s team.
