Richmond-based Optima Racing Team Triathlon Club has been awarded the prestigious Clubmark award from Sport England for their dedication to creating a child friendly Junior section.
They have also been awarded the British Triathlon Federation Starmark Award the mark of a quality Triathlon Club.
These awards recognise that the club are working to the high standards that British Triathlon and Sport England endorse and that the volunteers within the club are well organised and educated in running a sports club to create a friendly and safe environment for its members in which to train and compete.
Head coach James Beckinsdale said: “Achieving these awards demonstrates our continued efforts to improving our club for both junior and senior members.
“We have developed the club over the last 10 years and we will continue to improve our club and increase participation in triathlon.
“It is great to see so many juniors taking up triathlon. It is a fantastic way for them to be fit and active and learn three different disciplines. They are the future of our sport.”
