Former Teddington resident Jo Pavey enjoyed her Richmond Running Festival home coming to the tune of victory in the Kew Gardens 10K on Sunday.
The 41-year-old European 10,000m champion, who celebrated her birthday 24 hours earlier, clocked 32 minutes 47 seconds to win – finishing only 1:16 behind men’s winner Will Brewin.
“It’s always nice to be back in this area, it’s such a great place to train,” she said.
“I really enjoyed the race, I love how varied the route was and the atmosphere was fantastic along the way.”
Italian Alberto Mosca clocked 1:10.00 to win the Visit Richmond Half Marathon on his first visit to London, while Hayley Manning, winner last year, returned to retain her crown in a time of 1:28.00.
