All creatures great and small welcome

Rev Richard Hanford welcomed Albert the black sheep into his fold on Sunday during a church service for parishioners’ pets at St Mary the Virgin Church in Ewell. About 30 animals attended the service with almost 100 of their human companions. Rev Hanford said: “It seems to be growing each time and a lovely assortment of animals are brought. This year we had the usual dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters but we also had a pair of giant snails, which are very rare.” During the service, there was a general thanksgiving for creation and the animal kingdom.
