On the afternoon of Sunday 2nd July around 150 people joined in a celebration of the 7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group and the legacy left to the Group by Neil Dallen (now the Deputy Mayor of Epsom and Ewell). Neil retired as Group Scout Leader at the end of last year after 28 years in the role.

The event was in the form of a family picnic which took place at Horton Country Park. Being well prepared, a marquee was pitched just in case the weather was not accommodating, however, it stayed dry and a good time was had by all.

Invitees included some who had been scouts with Neil as he grew up as well as current and past leaders and helpers from 7th Epsom and Epsom and Ewell District, and parents and children with association with 7th Epsom over the years.

After a few short speeches, Neil was presented with a gift and a video from the current 7th Epsom team and a magnificent cake was cut and shared with all who attended.
