On Saturday 24th, I popped into the Co-op in the parade of shops at the end of Longmead Road. When I was queuing to pay, there was a lady next to me who's card was refused. I know how this feels and the lady was getting more embarrassed, when out of the blue this young man stepped in and paid for her shopping.
This young man would then not except her offers to pay it back at a later time, a gesture of true kindness.
I thought to myself even with all the sadness and trouble recently there are still good people out there. Hats off to this man!
The second thing is I live along Hook Road, so reasonably busy but is it just me and my partner, or are there more sirens these days?
And lastly, I just want to say a big thank you to all emergency services for what they do for us. From the police standing outside the Muslim centre on Hook Road to the fire and ambulance service for just being there.
Like I said sad times but also a lot of good.
