Tupelo is located in the southern part of the United States in Mississippi, and it prides itself on being the birthplace of the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Elvis Presley.
To honor and celebrate Presley’s legacy, DTMSA (Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association) puts on Tupelo Elvis Fest, which has just completed its 19th successful year.
A part of this festival is the Tupelo Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition, which features Elvis tribute artists from around the world who compete to become the ultimate champion.
Aside from winning this coveted title, the winner gains the chance to compete in the Graceland Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition, which is the highest level of competition within the world of Elvis tribute artists, and a huge honor within the worldwide Elvis fandom.
The competition ended Saturday, June 3 and Matt King from Stoneleigh competed in this competition, and finished second, which is a great accomplishment.
