Banstead Community Junior School welcomes the Mayor and Mayoress
Councillor David Powell, Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, and the Mayoress Caroline Durance thrilled the pupils at Banstead Community Junior School on a special visit to the school.
The Mayor had asked to visit the school after being impressed when seeing the school garden club take part in the Banstead Horticultural Show.
The Mayor talked to the children about his own interest in gardening as well as surprising them with stories of his sky diving records during a whole school assembly.
Following the assembly, the school captains Ella and Joe showed the Mayor and Mayoress round the school and grounds. The Mayor said he was “absolutely blown away by the pupils, staff, school ethos - as well as the outdoor adventures!”
