On Friday 21st April 2017, The Wheatsheaf FC from Ewell Village won their first ever trophy in the Junior Oak Cup Final at Banstead FC's ground.

The club was only founded less than a year ago by Graeme Bright, Declan Clarke, Jacko Gray, Jack Witts & Chris Day and they already have their first piece of silverware in their trophy cabinet.

The place erupted with when Robert Guest scored the winner for The Wheatsheaf in the 3-2 victory against Malden Vale FC in the last minute of extra time.

The Wheatsheaf were never really in front in the game until that last minute, coming from 1-0 & 2-1 down but fought back to win.

The attendance record for this cup final was 240 which was only set last year, however this was smashed this year with over 270 people coming down to watch, the support from the village and the local community was outstanding and the team couldn't have done it without them.

The Wheatsheaf FC have another cup final at Banstead FC Ground, KT20 5JG on Monday 1st May, kick off is at 2pm in the Senior Oak Cup Final against Woolpack Eagles, and are aiming to beat their own attendance record only one week after setting it.

Please come and support the lads on what could be an outstanding first ever season.
