The children, staff and governors at Banstead Community Junior School were very happy to receive a ‘good’ rating by Ofsted in March.
In the report, published on the Ofsted website, the school is praised for many aspects of school life. The report highlights how the staff “focus on meeting the needs of the ‘whole child’,” as well as how “Pupils are enthusiastic about their learning across the curriculum…” and “are well prepared to benefit from the next stage of their education.”
The report also includes quotes from parents who said: “Banstead Juniors has taught all of my children to be respectful, kind and, most importantly, to enjoy learning and to try their best at all times.”
Mr Steven Scott, Headteacher, said, “We are extremely proud that Ofsted have officially recognised the amazing work and skills of the staff which enables our pupils to be self-confident, successful and articulate children.
As Ofsted commented, the School is committed to teaching the ‘whole school’, all pupils are given opportunities to succeed within a caring and respectful environment.”
Mr Matthew Newton, Chair of Governors, said: “The Governing Body is very pleased that Ofsted have recognised the qualities, dedication and hard work of all the staff at the school.  It is particularly pleasing that the enthusiasm our pupils bring to their learning has also shone through.  Everyone involved at Banstead Community Junior School remains fully committed to ensuring that it is an excellent school in all respects with consistently high standards across all subjects."
