Epsom Japan Festival Saturday, 4th March 2:00 - 4:30pm Epsom Methodist Church, Ashley Road, KT18 5AQ.

We are a small group - Fukushima Friends UK, registered charity number 01160996 - supporting children in Fukushima in Japan after the great eastern Japan earthquake disaster on 11 March 2011.

We also help children in the UK understand different cultures and form international relationships as pen friends and through other events.

Now we are trying, for the first time, to hold a fundraising event, and specifically a Japan Festival, aiming to introduce Japanese culture to local people and invite Japanese people who live in the UK whilst raising funds and supporting Fukushima's suffering children.

At the same time you can enjoy a real Japanese atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon in Epsom!

Events include origami, Japanese "hina" doll craft, Japanese calligraphy, Kendo (Japanese fencing), wearing a kimono (for men, women & kids), traditional Japanese head/shoulder massage etc - you have the chance to experience these special events.

Please come with family, friends or just yourself.

Entry is free, some stalls may charge small amounts (from 50p).

The event is just 5 minutes from Epsom station. If you come by car please use a public car park like Ashley shopping centre as we have no space for visitors I'm afraid.
