Barisons Singers and Eastwick Junior School Choir were in excellent voice for the charity concert to raise funds to support local people with learning disabilities.

The Sunnybank Trust, based in Epsom, supports adults with learning disabilities across North East Surrey to be less socially isolated and feel more involved within the local community. They also provide an advocacy service to ensure everyone with a learning disability in the local area has their voices heard and are empowered to make their own choices, and to live safe from abuse or maltreatment.

Barisons’ Director, Brian Hill, said: “The members of Barisons Singers and Eastwick Junior School Choir were pleased to help raise money and awareness this Christmas for the Sunnybank trust. Local Charities are often overlooked so it is more special when we come together to support them.”

The choir concert took place in December 2016 at St Barnabas Church and saw parents, friends, and members of the local community come together for a fun evening of festive cheer Rachel Henderson, Fundraiser at The Sunnybank Trust, said, “It was a real pleasure to have Barisons Singers and the children of Eastwick Junior School Choir put on this performance to raise funds for Sunnybank. Everyone sounded fantastic and a great night was had by all. Being supported by the local community through events like this is incredibly important to a local charity like ours and we’re very thankful of the support."

Overall the event raised £647 which will be used to support Sunnybank’s core services, which include: • A befriending service, partnering volunteers with those who are often socially isolated • An advocacy programme • A weekly social club and drama club.
