Annual charity week raises money for a local charity.

A group of children from Puddle Ducks had fun raising £1,365 for The Surrey Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (Sands) a charity which supports families affected by the death of a baby.

Little swimmers enjoyed raising money during their classes at DW Fitness in Epsom. Every autumn, swim school Puddle Ducks hold a week long event where they raise money for their chosen charity and teach children valuable water safety and survival skills, all whilst having lots of fun.

Puddle Ducks asked their swimmers to vote for which charity they would like to raise money for, and this year Surrey Sands was chosen, a charity which is close to their hearts.

The Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity was founded in 1978 by a small group of bereaved parents. The charity aims to support people around the UK who are affected by the death of a baby, improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promote research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

Natalie Archer from Puddle Ducks explained, “Our Charity Week is a great way of teaching our students important lifesaving skills in a fun and relaxed environment, whilst raising money for a great cause. “We were delighted to fundraise for Surrey Sands, they do fantastic work and we will continue to support them. We want to thank all of the children for joining us this week and for all of their great work in raising £1,365.”
