Surrey's specialist schools enjoy Paralympics sports festival
7:20am Thursday 12th July 2012 in News By Hardeep Matharu
The festival was hosted by The Children's Trust in Tadworth
Specialist schools from across Surrey came together for a Paralympics-themed sports festival.
The event, held at The Children’s Trust in Tadworth, was organised for young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Each school represented a different country during the day and, after a triumphant opening ceremony, 120 children enjoyed a variety of games including hockey, football, rugby, boccia and archery.
Ali Lalani, 2007 World Cup boccia champion and a vice-president of the trust, joined in the day’s fun and said: "Today has reminded me of when I was at school, and these opportunities were not possible.
"Each one of you, individually is a champion every second of everyday, always remember that."
