Princess Alexandra praised a charity which makes life-changing equipment for disabled children after paying it a visit last week.

The princess visited MERU, in West Hill, Epsom, on Thursday where she met with the charity’s chief executive officer Susan Brumpton and staff and volunteers.

She was shown around the workshops where the charity designs and builds its specialised equipment and viewed some examples of its work, including an adapted bicycle and the Bugzi power-chair.

She said: "I think that the work you do is wonderful. The families are so brave and the children so inspiring."
