A group of adventurous scouts have been awarded the highest accolade available to them.
Eight scouts from the 8th/14th Epsom Air Scouts have received the Chief Scouts Gold badge.
They completed a range of challenges for the award, including an overnight expedition from Epsom to Box Hill.
Further challenges required them to sell programmes at the Lord Mayor’s show in London, complete a global challenge project of their choice and undertake a fitness programme.
The badges were awarded to the group by the district commissioner, John Jordan, and visiting RAF squadron leader Mike Ulrich.
Air scout leader Paul Dawson said: "We are extremely proud of all of them.
"They have all worked hard to gain the award and set an excellent example to younger scouts who are now keen to follow in their footsteps and also gain the award."
The eight scouts will now move on as explorer scouts and start work for their Queens Scout Award, the highest award in scouting.
